software firewall

I need to have a good firewall to run on my computer. I've tried Zone Alarm
and Sysgate, but they cause me problems. I'm running servers on my computer
and need them to be protected but at the same time allow legitimate access
(web & mail servers). sysgate did me well but I always had issues when
people try to view my websites, getting 404 or page cannot be displayed.

anyone have any good recommendations?

Sygate is good enough for personal use (although for
more demanding tasks I'd rather prefer the Kerio PF)
in any case for server needs I can suggest you to give
CHX-I a try http://www.idrci.net/idrci_products.htm it's
free for personal (non commercial) use and comes with
some good examples *and* if used along with IIS it will
give you the needed protection to build a professionally
"protected" web site; give it a spin (and let me know)

Hi,
Check out the following URL

which talks about personal firewalls.

:-) I'm a "long timer" there, just give a
look at the news here:

news://news.grc.com

anyway ... that link could be useful for
someone here around...
