Content Advisor : Missing Information
When I start IE a message comes which says ContenT Advisor Information missing.
In the content tab of the Internet Options, clicking on the diable button
does not affect anything. Clicking on the Settings button brings a password
window. Here my administrator password or windows password is not accepted.
I had not given any password for this. This problem is on a local machine.
I have a proxy server with winGate Running. I have tried to find the ratings.pol
file but it does not exist on the machine. Pl help

# 1 Re: Content Advisor : Missing Information
The content advisor uses its own password and is stored in the registry (I
think its hidden though

Looks like someone may have turned it on. I think thew only way to work
around it is to figure out the registry entries but I could be wrong. Try
reinstalling IE or upgrading to a newer version in case it doesn't import
the old settings.

# 2 Re: Content Advisor : Missing Information
To resolve this issue, create a new Ratings.pol file:
Quit Internet Explorer.
Check your Windows\System folder to see if a Ratings.pol file exists.
NOTE : You must be able to view hidden files to view the Ratings.pol file.
To view hidden files in My Computer or Windows Explorer, click Folder Options
on the View menu in My Computer or Windows Explorer, click the View tab,
click Show All Files , and then click OK .
Start Internet Explorer, click Cancel to close the error message, and then
click Internet Options on the Tools menu.
Click the Content tab, and then click Settings in the Content Advisor area.
Type the Supervisor password, and then click OK .
