Roaming Outlook 2003 PST Set-up
I have a client where the users can use any machine (Windows XP Pro). The computers are on a Windows 2003 Enterprise domain.
I need to be able to set something in place that when a user logs on to a computer for the first time on each machine for a script or batch file or any other solution sets a new Mail Profile name to point to their shared PST file and sets their POP3 settings automatically upon first login.
The users have a fairly limited basic knowledge on computers (that's how I feel at the moment ;) ) and will not be able to create a Mail profile, set up the path and/or create a new PST file and set all of their POP3 settings manually.
Is there any script that anyone has or know of or any other way that I have not thought of that will create all of this upon first login on a machine in the office?
The reason I am going down this path is that they are a small company and do not have the budget for Exchange 2003 to be used on the network and they want to be able to instantly get to their emails from any machine they use. I have built a webmail system for them but some people do not like this although I think from my point of view, this is ideal as the emails are not downloaded onto a local server and sit on the web server instead so as to eliminate as many local viruses as possible. The problem with a bespoke email system is that they receive all spam mail though.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Dan
