Audio capture

Hi, I was wondering if it was possible to capture the soubd emitted by another program because I wanted to record my conversations with my friends thru audio chat.
Hope somebody know the solution.

There's no need to write a program to do that; there are numerous programs already available to record Windows audio: http://www.google.com/search?q=windows+sound+record

I want to write my oun program. And i know nothing about capturing sound from other programs.

Excuse my bad english, is not my mother tongue so please excuse my "sintax errors".
I tring to make an aplication in Visual Basic to capture audio from multiple sound cards.
