Copyright or restrictions on downloaded code.
How can I find out if the code from the following link has a copyright or other restrictions?
http://www.dev-archive.com/xml/Article/10114/0/page/1
I tried e-mailing the author, but didn't get a reply. The article is a few years old.

Please see this page: http://www.codeguru.com/faq.php
And scroll down to the section that says:
Are there any usage restrictions or is the code on your site considered open source?
I realize this page is not from dev-archive but the rules/permissions for source code use is the same across Jupitermedia; our authors retain copyright of their code but they must agree that all code they publish with our sites can be used by our readers with no restrictions.
So in short, the code is not open source but you may your use it as you like. You should publish a copyright statement in your comments or readme file that credits the original author with the code.
Thanks,
Lori
