Principal Software Engineer

Citrix Gateway group is looking for a Principal Software Engineer.

Own technical and architectural direction for the Application Gateway product.
Work closely with Product Manager to define product roadmap and release schedules.
Work closely with Support Manager to identify action plan for customer issue resolution.

Principal Responsibilities:
Contribute to product improvements through high quality implementations.
Communicate and clarify project task details to team members.
Supervise and guide team members through design, implementation, and debugging within their individual tasks.
Drive development, evaluation, selection, implementation and maintenance of engineering development tools and productivity tools (e.g. IDEs, Configuration Management, etc).

Other Duties and Responsibilities:
The Product Manager will drive definition of release content and timeline. The Principal Engineer will represent the developers perspectives in this effort.
The Engineering Manager will be responsible for defining and driving engineering process. The Principal Engineer will champion these processes within the engineering team.
Supervisory Responsibilities (If applicable, provide the number and titles of employees supervised.)
Provide technical leadership and guidance to 10 engineers and testers.
Mentor team members on development best practices.
Allocate tasks according to team strengths / weaknesses and availability.

Qualifications and Requirements
BS degree (MS preferred) in computer science, or related field, with a minimum of 10 years of directly related work experience.
Minimum 5 years of Unix (Linux preferred) network server application development in C/C++.
Strong understanding of application protocols and formats. (HTTP, LDAP, IMAP, SMTP, XML)
Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking concepts and protocols. (DNS, TCP, UDP, IP, Ethernet)
Strong understanding of VoIP concepts and protocols a plus. (SIP, H.323, RTP)
