/servername:port is not a valid virtual path

Hi,

My website must run on a server where IIS and FrontPage Extensions 2002 seems to be well configured.

I am using Visual Studio 2005.

When I try to do a simple component drag and drop, I have the error specified in the subject.

I have read that MS was working on this bug. Does anyone has news about it or know what to do ?

Many thanks.

:)

Can you tell us what error you got?
I have a few questions for you.
1) Do you have userright to access this Server?
2) Can you call this website with server on this server itself?
3) Do you have install or turn on firewall or some software related to blocking connections.?
4) Are you sure your IIS Setting is correct?
eg: Execute Permission : Script Only
5) are the IP of Server and IP that you got by using ping command from client machine the same?

I have read that there was a bug in Visual Studio 2005 and that MS was working on it.

I have the same error. I have full server access etc but just wanted to setup a test site at normalsite.com:8080.

I haven't yet found a workaround!
