internal server error

Hi there,
I have this strange problem with my .net ,I can open my existing Web Applications but I can not open a new Web Application.
All i get is the error: "HTTP1.1/500 internal server error, cannot open web project"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please help me out.

Make sure there are no formatting/capitalization errors in your web.config file.
