Does anyone know of a method to check for network connectivity in c# for the compact framework?

I am creating a program which will need to know if the device has been into sleep mode and then rewoken. As currently when rewoken the wireless connection is not active straight away and a connection will need to be re-establisehed with the server created.

Any help would be appreciated??
