Using MS Visual Studio 2005 C++

I have an application originally built in VS 2005 C++ beta 1 (was running well). I've installed the beta 2 version. After fixing the application to account for depreciated libraries I get a clean compile & link, but I get an error when I try to run it as follows;

Pop-up:

"...The application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect"

Nothing at all appears in the output window of the debug tool.

Any ideas where I should look?
