Certified Internet Webmaster

I am taking the CIW courses, which are offered here in the Seattle area at
two different colleges. You take the "Foundations" first, which is pretty
basic, then go on to take more to specialize, such as "site designer" or
"security" or "e-commerce". My question is, has anybody here done this? I
am just wondering if you had no other bussiness experience or web experience,
is this program worth the thousands of dollars, or is it just a "paper certification"?

Brian,

Like you, i'm taking up web development courses with the same approach, you
begin with the basics, then intermediate doing designs and lastly, be exposed
in e-commerce, database integration and web site administration, etc. after
which, you'll be given a certificate.

i have no i.t. experience. it's a complete career change. but i have faith.
you just need to practice, practice and practice so you will not forget,
especially if you have no work experience too. so don't lose hope. in time,
you might get the job that you want. be sure to have a web portfolio. that's
what employers usually ask.

so there, i believe you're on the right track.
