Hows Australia (VB Wise)?
Hi Folks.
I've been looking in on the possibility of moving to Australia (from the
Middle east), since I've heard that there is plenty of opportunity there in
terms of Jobs in VB development or any programming for that matter.
Can anyone tell me weather that is wrong,Half right, or couldn't be truer?
Sidney would be the first place for me to start looking, but if you can think
of a better one, I'd like to know.
Thanks,
Roy.

I think we are in a pretty privileged position in the IT industry right now.
Most industrialised nations are crying out for people with software
development skills. Like many other nations, the government here in the UK
this year relaxed work permit restrictions for IT skilled people. It's a
situation that may not last, and I intend to take advantage of the
opportunities to travel that my skills afford me in the not too distant
future.
As for Australia, word of mouth tells me that there is demand for
developers, but centred more around Melbourne and Brisbane.

Sydney is becoming the IT Capital of Australia due to its sheer size,
multicultural population, highly skilled workforce and strong enconomy.
Sydney is well advanced in terms of creating it's own mini "Silicon Valley
corridor in the North Ryde technology Park.
I'm a S/W Engineer specialising in Distributed architectures using Vb and
the market is crying out for seasoned professionals in ALL IT area's.

Hello
I'm doing a Diploma in IT (Software Development) at a TAFE in Melbourne.
The feeling I get from my fellow students is that the job market here in
Melbourne for IT is shrinking.
Certainly there are jobs in IT but it looks like you need the right
experience (and know the right people) to get a job here.
