Error while exporting DataGrid to excel...

I am getting a strange error while trying to export a datagrid using the StringWriter
and HtmlTextWriter objects...

"Control 'DataGrid1__ctl1__ctl0' of type 'DataGridLinkButton' must be placed
inside a form tag with runat=server."

The DataGrid1 IS inside the form tag...

any ideas?
