I am a VB programer and want to learn XML.
It sounds stupid but I really want to know varios uses of XML. I mean can
I create an Application using XML? Can I create Database application with
XML. Will it run on any OS?
Can I create any component with XML and use it in some other lanhuage (i.e.
VB)?

If some one can suggest me the BEST book for learning XML, I will be Grateful
to him/her.

I think if I can see the practical use of XML , I'll definitely learn it
easily, so please let me know about any book or site useful for me.
